Hamilton is setting the pace in the race to reduce green house gases.

Today October 17th the Hamilton Climate Change Charter was introduced. I have been helping on the Climate Change Working Group that prepared the charter. So of course I signed it.
The Charter obliges the signers to measure their output of green house gasses, take measures to reduce their carbon footprint, and report to the community. The Charter is based on a community document circulated through Cambridge England.
Hamilton is the first community in Ontario (and possibly Canada) to launch such an initiative. The Mayor will sign it at a ceremony next week. The Working Group will now start identifying tools that signers can use to measure their green house gas production and tips to reduce them.
It's things like this that make me proud to be a Hamiltonian.
